Vid recs: Multifandom, Farscape, Buffy
I'm pretty sure that if I ever got bitten by a vid making bug for real, I would ditch writing altogether and never look back. Because I would be dying to reach goodness like this:
Filthy Mind, bysol_se
It's stream of consciousness in vid form, bringing together several fandoms (Battlestar Galactica, Dexter and Smallville just for starters) in this stunning visual fest. According to the vidder it's a combination of free association (what one character does brings another in mind) and pulsing lights of a club, and it's fantastic. It ranges from hard to impossible to do something like this in fic, and I haven't seen many things like this in vid world either. It's a must watch.
Now, I've been catching up with the parts of Farscape that I missed lately, which has allowed me to remember just how good the show was. Not many characters in Western mediums are broken in the way John Crichton is (who is pretty much the American Cloud Strife), but again, showing it to a non-fan is much harder if I were reccing fics. In fact, reccing fics to a non-fan wouldn't really serve a purpose. Which is why reccing vids is better.

Now, while John/Aeryn is the OTP of Farscape-fandom for a good reason, I'm also very weak for the hero/villain-relationship of the show, Scorpius and Crichton, in both gen and slash sense. Sadly, fic has failed to give me what I want from this relationship over and over again, which I guess I have to deal with since the fandom makes me otherwise happy. But while the vids seem to focus on other things as well, there are two vids that have given me exactly what i want.

THE Scorpius/Crichton-vid #1. Very creepy, with some well-used John/Aeryn on the side.

THE Scorpius/Crichton-vid #2. A fine example of how lyrics and scenes should go together in a vid, and very - dare I say it? - hot as well. I have my own definition for hot.
Despite being Ms Gen at heart, I do have my pairings of choice, and for femslash that pairing of choice is Buffy/Faith. Here's a great vid for them.
